Orkney - Ancient landscapes

Orkney is a stunning group of islands off the north coast of Scotland. They are rugged, remote and beautiful and are truly ancient landscapes. Dramatic high cliffs dominate the seascapes and provide home for thousands of seabirds. The remains of neolithic settlements are recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site where houses from 5000 years ago can be seen this remote place 5000 years ago. I toured this amazing landscape with professional photographer Colin Prior, and a great group of people keen to take in the wonder of this ancient place. Here are my images of neolithic wonders, dramatic seascapes, remote rocky shores, seabird colonies, remains of traditional rural life and spectactular sea stacks.
