The Galapagos Islands in the eastern Pacific are well known as the site that inspired Charles Darwin to develop theories about evolution. It is easy to see how the islands intrigued him as the endemic plants and animals show different characteristics on each island where they eventually become individual species.
This gallery is a small selection of the photographs I took in the Galapagos. The cruise was on the Solaris with a group of like minded enthusiastic travellers. We were accompanied by Jo Ruxton MBE who showed us how disastrous plastic is for the ocean. Our naturalist guide Alexys shared his passion for the islands as we experienced the wonders of the islands.
