I discovered digital tools for editing my landscapes early in my photography journey. But what really excited me was the potential for creativity, for making something with my mind's eye. I've since completed many courses and joined lots of groups for like-minded creatives. Here are some examples of my work so far. I'm really looking forward to creating more as I learn and grow.
An amazing course on professional photo editing run by Adam Williams was responsible for getting me started. That inspired me to learn more. I was very excited to disover a course run by US artist, Sebastian Michaels, Wield Photoshop Like an Artist. That opened my eyes to the world of creative digital art. I've since joined the Awake Group for Sebastian's most dedicated artists. Sebastian publishes a monthly magazine, Living the Photo Artistic Life, Pushing Photography Further, which features extraordinary digital artwork by members of the internationally celebrated Awake Group.
In addition to ongoing learning through the Awake Group, and sharing images through various social media groups I am also a member of the Kaizen Group. This group manged by Sebastian Michaels features some of the best photo artists from around to world. Those artists share inspiration and techniques to help artists in the Kaizen Group to further develop skills in creative image making.
Shift Art is another group that encourages competition entries and shares new and creative ideas. The group runs monthly summits run by expert photo artists which feature a wide variety of styles and techniques to provide ideas for new creations. They also run a monthly challenge for artists to create an image based on a specific theme. Artists must use at least three of the provided photographs. I'm thrilled that my piece, Queens of Fire and Ice, for the Kings and Queens theme was noticed by the judges in May 2023 . The following month I was delighted that my piece Obsessed, created for the Fashion theme was given an honourable mention.
Artists Down Under is a group of photo artists based in Australia and New Zealand who share creations and encourage members to create. They publish a magazine featuring works by local artists. I'm delighted to have several of my artworks published, including fine art landscapes and digital photo art.
