I was delighted to have the opportunity to visit Ecuador in 2024. The trip arranged by New Scientist Discovery Tours began in Quito "In the footsteps of Alexander von Humbolt". I visited the high Andes which literally took my breath away. A tour to Yasuni Biosphere Reserve hosted by the indigenous Kichwa people allowed me to see amazing wildlife in the Amazon Basin. The Cloud Forest was next where I saw so many beautiful hummingbirds. The tour then moved to "Darwin's Galapagos" which didn't disappoint with the strange and beautiful wildlife.
